What is Men & and Forge?Men & is a Canadian leader in men’s mental and relational health, built as a social purpose initiative by the Forge Centre for Dignity-Driven Leadership, a Canadian Certified B-Corp in partnership with the pioneering social support organization Fear Is Not Love. Men & and the tools are grounded in more than a decade of research and practice with service providers, experts, and men from all walks of life and their loved ones and supporters. In addition to working with practitioners to create free resources, Men & provides a 24/7 resource line, and a national registry of free and low-cost services. They work directly with governments, community agencies, and law enforcement, pairing digital access with human connection through practitioner learning events, field playbooks, and Men & Cards used by community services to help men find local support. Led by experienced practitioners and researchers, Men & turns data into practical, repeatable supports that men, families, and communities can trust.

Why did you make this? From extensive research we know that many men want help but don’t know where to start, spending months or years searching online before reaching out. Forge created Men & to help men and their supporters find whatever support they need with dignity, not shame by meeting these needs with low-barrier, plain-language tools you can use today; guidance for repairing relationships and restoring connection; and pathways to community and professional support when you’re ready. Our aim is simple—create conditions for safety, belonging, and repair at home, at work, and in community, and free online tools are a key part of that approach.

What if I need help now?If you or someone else is in danger, call 911. For immediate support, contact your local crisis line. In Canada you can also dial or text 988 for suicide crisis support. Use the tools when you’re safe. The Men & Collection and other Forge tools are educational, not clinical advice. They can complement care from your doctor, counsellor, or community program but they do not replace professional support. Our tools emphasize conditions for safety, consent, boundaries, and repair. If there is risk of harm, prioritize safety planning and get professional support before using conversation practices. Professional service providers can help you with complicated mental health, addiction, or domestic violence and abuse challenges to support you with tailored guidance and resources for your specific situation. You can find local support in Canada on Men &'s national resource map or call the Men & resource line 24/7 to talk with someone.

What is a Tool and a Toolset? Our aim is to create relevant and practical resources that provide actionable skills and practices. For this reason, we call our resources "Tools" since they're intended to be put to use rather than focused solely on theory. A Tool is one focused resource you can use right away—like a Guide Book, Workbook, Conversations Deck, Interactive Scenario, or short audio/video lesson. Each Tool teaches a small set of skills with plain-language steps, scripts, and checklists you can apply in minutes. A Toolset is a curated bundle of Tools that work together on one topic (for example: Managing Anxiety, Managing Depression, or Managing Conflict). You’ll get orienting guidance plus companion practice materials so you can understand the issue, try a skill, and repeat it until it sticks.

Can my workplace or team use Forge tools?Yes. All our tools and practices support dignity-driven approaches to leadership and cultures, the tools in the Men & Collection provide foundational self regulation skills which are essential for psychological safety, accountability with care, and shared language for restoring trust and navigating change.
